Tell Us What You Think
We believe that any web site should be crystal clear, easy to use and understand, free from clutter and confusion. Where a link is placed, the link should take you directly to where you want to go to find pertinent information or products. If you believe that we need to adjust anything here then let us know.
Business Legal
Are you a manager, senior manager, director or a health and safety representative in public, corporate or partnership organisations within England that have decision making powers to influence the organisation you work for and enough control to warrant accountability for the decisions you take that potentially involve the safety of others. If so then you need to be aware of the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 which came to force on 6th April 2008. It could make your organisation accountable for your actions upon the death of a person or persons in situations over which you have suitable control on behalf of your organisation. The CMCHA 2007 does not replace current Health and Safety Legislation.
Smoking at Work
£50 for smoking in or on smoke free premises
£200 for failure to display adequate notices
£2500 maximum penalty for a failure to prevent smoking in or on smoke free premises.
Electronic Communications — An update to the Companies Act 1985 now requires all registered companies to provide full contact information and registration information on their respective web sites. Companies not complying with these regulations can be liable to a fine. This does not affect sole traders.
WEEE Regulations — Waste electrical and electronic equipment regulations came into force on the 1st January 2007. If you are a company supplying such equipment then the likelihood is that you may have a responsibility for the cost of the disposal of the older equipment and maybe a cost for the disposal of new equipment when no longer required.
The above information is strictly for news item communication only and does not serve as legal advice in any form.
