Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page)
This is a new introduction to this site and your questions will be posted here along with the answers. This FAQ will only contain the question, if sanctioned to do so, by the client asking it. Questions will not appear without due client authority.
Puzzle Computers welcomes your input so please feel free to send us your questions.
Q. Do Puzzle Computers come out on site visits ?
A. Most of our work is conducted on our own sites. We could arrange a site visit to perform the work. This will increase the cost of any recovery work undertaken and we do set strict guidelines in expectation of data protection.
Q. Do I need to send the computer to you ?
A. No, we only require you to send us the hard drive, device or electronic component.
Q. Do I need to send items by courier ?
A. You the client, are responsible for shipping, sending and collection of any and or, all electronic components. We normally state that any electronic device should be sent via special courier. This means that you maintain control for suitable insurance in case of loss or accidental destruction in transit. You will be notified upon completion of work to arrange collection. If you want Puzzle Computers to arrange this then the costs of such shipment will be added to the costs of work and insurance shipment paid for by Puzzle Computers will only cover the costs of the device, not the data stored on the device.
Q. What is the process for data recovery ?
A. Puzzle Computers has a two stage process. The first stage after receipt of the device is for Puzzle Computers to perform an investigation of the device to ascertain data recoverability. A report is generated and sent to the client. The second stage is the data recovery stage should you wish to continue with data recovery. The stage one ‘investigation and report’ and stage two ‘data recovery’ are independently chargeable process stages.
Q. What guarantees do you give for data recovery ?
A. Puzzle Computers does not guarantee data recovery. Neither to our knowledge does any other data recovery organisation. That would be similar to asking if we would guarantee any unknown eventuality. Which as you will appreciate is an impossible thing to guarantee. We can only recover the data highlighted from the stage one investigation process which we will make you aware of from the report generated.
Q. Who do we provide services for ?
A. Quite simply any individual or any organisation that requires our help and services.
Q. Do Puzzle Computers provide general computing advice or consultancy advice ?
A. Puzzle Computers do provide general computing advice and specialist consultancy to any organisation or individual that requires our services.
Q. Why do you not have a client list on your site ?.
A. Our client list is confidential, so is your organisation data and contact information. Puzzle Computers relies on this ethos for certain work types. Puzzle Computers will have to be legally enforced and bound by UK courts prior to relinquishing any information, as to do so may affect certain aspects of our trade.
